The very striking tulip; Black Night.
The tulips seem to work very well on my tinted pastel grounds; pale blue Bockingford watercolour paper.
Wax resist was used on the flower head.

The Very First Bee of the Season visits claret Hellebore..
The paler sepals and centre of the hellebore have to be masked out first with Masking fluid; then painted in later, with a naples yellow based tone.
