Tulips from the local florist; long leggy and leaning everywhere……………………………                   Leaves have the blue tone shadows !!!

                   The very striking tulip; Black Night.The tulips seem to work very well on my tinted pastel grounds; pale blue Bockingford watercolour paper.

Wax resist was used on the flower head.

                              Rose in floral ginger jar !!Wax resist was used to create texture in flower and the ceramics.

Spring arrives with small irises, daffodils and the very first butterfly !!

The Very First Bee of the Season visits claret Hellebore..The paler sepals and centre of the hellebore have to be masked out first with Masking fluid; then painted in later, with a naples yellow based tone.

                Snail on rose vase…………………………..!I really loved painting the reflections in the water here..

light washes of free splashy colours……create movement.

Ranunculas, Daffodils and anemones……..in blue Spode !These flowers were worked very quickly, in my sketchbook, on pale blue Bockingford watercolour paper.

         Snowdrops in The James Keiller crackle jar !

                            The leaves go towards the blue spectrum !!

March Hellebores……surround me, and fascinate me; this one is on pale green Bockingford watercolour paper……….using quite a lot masking fluid!! for centres of flowers.
